Since 1926, the Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club has worked diligently to further the development of charitable horticulture and charitable conservation activities within San Diego county. Through their annual grant program, the club is able to extend their philanthropy across multiple garden programs across the county, impacting many.
For the first time, Berry Good Food was named a beneficiary of this grant to continue work with our Seeds for the Future School Garden Program. Along with 25 other recipients, we were invited to attend the Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club’s Celebration of Giving on May 17, 2023 to accept our award.
BGF Vice President Jane Bills and BGF Development Chair Liz Tesolin represented our project with a visual presentation of our “Root to Fruit” educational model that aims to educate children about the growth process of food as well as zero-waste culinary techniques to maximize the potential of the harvest.
It was an inspirational evening to be amongst so many change makers within the community. Our sincerest thanks go out to the Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club for recognizing Berry Good Food for growing a food movement in San Diego County!
