SCOOP San Diego Ice Cream Festival has been bringing joy to ice cream lovers every summer for six years in North Park, and SCOOP founder and CIO (Chief Ice Cream Officer) Daniel Szpak takes the joy even further by selecting a beneficiary charity to receive the event’s net proceeds every year. We were beyond thrilled that SCOOP chose Berry Good Food to be its 2024 beneficiary, and Szpak presented BGF with an astonishing $51,000 in July 2024! BGF was also excited to be present at the event coordinating numerous hands-on activities at “Berry Good Food Land.” A huge thanks goes out to all of the hardworking volunteers, and community supporters as well as event sponsors Good Start Packaging, A7D Creative Group, Chemistry PR, My Point Credit Union, and Auker Real Estate. As the first binational designation in the WDC program history, San Diego (USA) and Tijuana (Mexico) have been named World Design Capital 2024 as a result of their commitment to human-centered design and legacy of cross-border collaboration. Berry Good Food was grateful to receive a $10,000 grant from the WDC 2024 and The City of San Diego for our 14th Future Thought Leaders panel at UCSD on November 16, 2024 on the topic of indigenous food ways in our cross-border community.
We’re honored to announce our partnership with Kind Traveler’s Every Stay Gives Back community impact program. A portion of every guest stay with participating lodging partners in Oceanside will be donated to the Berry Good Food Foundation, empowering travelers to positively impact the communities they visit, and helping BGF fortify its mission to create a stronger and healthier local food system. This initiative aligns perfectly with the recent launch of Visit Oceanside’s Love O’side responsible travel platform, which aims to inspire and educate travelers to make thoughtful travel choices to plan an environmentally, socially, and culturally conscious trip to Oceanside, California. Together, we’re redefining travel for good and creating meaningful change.
